CODE OF CONDUCT

Purpose:

The Paradise Gem & Mineral Club is committed to fostering a welcoming and respectful community of members who share a passion for gemology, mineralogy, and related interests. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for behavior and interactions within the club.

Respect and Inclusivity:

Treat all members and guests with respect, courtesy, and kindness, in observance of the “Golden Rule”.

Embrace diversity and inclusivity. Discrimination, harassment, or bullying based on race, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated.

Ethical Practices:

Abide by ethical and legal standards when collecting material. Observe all laws, regulations, and rules when collecting on public land. Encourage responsible sourcing, respect for the environment, and respect for both private and public property. Collecting on private land is not allowed without the owner’s permission.

Use of Club Resources/Safety:

Use club resources, including equipment and facilities, responsibly and in accordance with safety guidelines posted in the clubhouse lapidary workshop. Please report any damage or misuse of club equipment promptly.

Adhere to all Club Bylaws, Policies, and Rules. Including:

No firearms or blasting materials in collecting areas.
No willful damage to property including fences, signs, gates, etc.
Stay on designated roads.
Leave all gates as found.
Campfires in designated places only. Completely extinguish fire before leaving the area.
Back fill excavated holes as they are dangerous to livestock and people.
Do not contaminate wells, creeks, or other water sources with chemicals or excess sediment
Remove only material which you can REASONABLY USE. Share surplus material with fellow members.

Code of Conduct Violations:

Report any violations of this Code of Conduct to the executive board. Club leadership will investigate reported violations and take appropriate action as needed. Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the club, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation. The Executive Board reserves the right to terminate or not renew an individual who is consistently disrespectful, disruptive, or causes continued discomfort among fellow members.
